The Yaseen Foundation is excited to announce the formation of a youth club at the Masjid that is run by the youth. We ask all parents of children between the ages of 13 to 20 to seriously consider asking their children to join this exciting new organization.

Objectives

  1. Create a social medium to connect the Muslim youth in the community
  2. Create friendships among Muslim Youth
  3. Build a stronger young Muslim community
  4. Give the Muslim youth a sense of identity
  5. Provide an alternative atmosphere where parents feel comfortable with their children’s activities
  6. Islamic education that comes from Halaqas (formal) and from interaction and role modeling (informal)
  7. Build a strong understanding of the larger society we live in -- Interfaith
  8. Create a safe environment for the youth to establish their religion.
What is a Youth Club and how does it work?

The Youth Club is sponsored by Yaseen Foundation.  The Executive Committee will assign an annual budget to the Youth Club, which the Youth Club officers are empowered to spend in accordance to the Youth Club Constitution.

 Youth club ages:

§         Through experience, we found that many activities couldn’t be done because very few activities work for all age groups

§         There should be two age groups

o       13-14: Middle school age

o       15-18: High school age

§         In order for a person to become a Yaseen Youth Club member, they must have passed their 13th birthday. It is important that the age rules are followed closely.  If younger children are allowed into the Youth Club, older teenagers will be turned away.

 Officers

In order for the Youth Club to be successful, the Youth must elect their own officers who will be empowered to manage the Youth Club activities according to the Constitution and the Rules of the Yaseen Youth Club.

Programs and activities:

Twice a month on Sundays. In each meeting we begin with an insightful lecture on a topic relating to Islam.  The rest of the meeting is spent working on club business.  In addition to Halaqas, the Youth Club will hold various activities ranging from, sports, and overnight events, as well as trips to amusement parks, museums, and other activities.  A major event will be held once a month with others held throughout the year. Programs and activities will be held at scheduled times

Some of the programs include:

  1. Sport activities, outdoor activities (camping, Hiking, picnics etc.).
  2.  Socializing events
  3. Lectures, conferences and workshops.
  4.  Help the Yaseen Foundation (Data Base, contacting members, children and senior programs.)
  5. Community work; participate in Ramadan and Eid Activities.
  6.  Other activities, which promote Islamic values.
  7. Interfaith activities

Activities are free; some may require a fee (to cover costs).

Note: Members and parents will be informed of programs ahead of time.
