Zakat Funds and Use Policy
۞ إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَٱلْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلْغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۖ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Indeed, [prescribed] charitable offerings are only [to be given] to the poor and the indigent, and to those who work on [administering] it, and to those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to [free] those in bondage, and to the debt-ridden, and for the cause of God, and to the wayfarer. [This is] an obligation from God. And God is all-knowing, all-wise. - Al-Tawbah, 9:60
Yaseen Foundation policy is to honor donor fund choices. Each donor is free to follow the Fiqh opinion of their choice. Yaseen's Zakat fund is restricted to people going through financial hardships, students not able to pay tuitions and a small percentage goes to similar organizations where their use of funds is deemed compatible with our policy.
If you follow the Fiqh opinion that allows use of Zakat funds for real property purchase and development, or other programs then donate your Zakat to corresponding cause(s).
Zakat
Zakat-ul-Mal helps people passing through a hardship. A small percentage may go to community organizations that honor the same principles.
Funeral Services
For funeral services and burial plots. Zakat eligible as fund helps bereaved families with no adequate financials.
