About Course Instructor:

AlhamduleAllah, Dr. Heba Abolaban is a public health doctor and lifelong student of Islamic knowledge who, by the grace of Allah subhanah w ta’ala, holds multiple certificates in various Islamic studies.

Dr. Abolaban earned her medical degree from Damascus University and her MPH from Northeastern University in Boston, later serving as a Women’s Health Consultant at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She also joined the initiative on “Islam & Medicine” at the University of Chicago. Later, she worked as an academic researcher at Stanford University’s Muslims Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab in California.

With over 13 years of experience as a Muslim health consultant and educator, Dr. Heba has taught numerous in-person & online courses integrating Islam and health, including her well-known programs on Female puberty, Fiqh for 18+, and the Fiqh of women and sexual health in Islam (for women aged 18+ including college and university students). She also teaches cultural competency training to non-Muslim healthcare providers who want to provide the best care for their Muslim patients/clients. This type of training makes a great difference in the treatment/outcome.

Dr. Heba Abolaban is passionate about empowering Muslim women/ girls through authentic knowledge to increase their spiritual and overall wellbeing. She is also a proud mother of three, AlhamduleAllah.
